Holt VC Primary School

Governing body

The Governing Body of the school is comprised of the following categories of people who give their time, skills and expertise to voluntarily assist the head teacher and staff team in the running of the school:

  • Foundation Governors (representing the Diocese)
  • Staff Governors
  • Parent Governors (elected by parents)
  • Co-opted Governors (skills-based appointment by the Governing Body)

In addition, Associate Members may be appointed for up to 1 year to assist with specific tasks but do not have voting rights. All Governors are asked to abide by our code of conduct which can be seen here – Governors Code of Conduct - and if you would like more detailed information about the role of the Governing body it can be found here - The role of the governing body.

We have a very supportive, committed and active group of Governors who meet at least every term. There is a committee system covering the following areas:

  • Staffing and Finance
  • Curriculum and Pupil Matters
  • Premises and Safety

The Board of Governors will be very pleased to hear any suggestions or comments from parents. There is a box for this purpose in the school foyer. Alternatively, email the Chair of Governors via the office: admin@holt.wilts.sch.uk or privately at jonw@holtprimaryschool.co.uk. You can see the Governors who’s who sheet to meet the Governors and see their written biographies below.
